The aim of UKCF is to:
Aim to present the Gospel truth of Jesus Christ to all that would hear, to the best of our ability, believing that faith comes through hearing the word of Christ (Romans 10:17).
This will be achieved by:
Facilitating, where possible, genuine discussion about Jesus Christ and Christianity between Christians and others.
Keeping the forums focussed on appropriate discussion where possible.
To not be afraid of tackling the difficult issues, differences and 'distinctives' that occur within Christianity, but keeping in mind God's desire for His church to be unified.
Giving at every opportunity honest and gracious answers while remaining unashamed of the Gospel, believing it to be the power of God for the salvation of all that believe. (Colossians 4:5-6; Romans 1:16).
encouraging God's people:
to worship God in spirit and in truth, both personally and corporately (John 4:23-24);
to fellowship with other disciples of Jesus as part of a congregation as well as on the internet (Hebrews 10:25);
in unity, regardless of denomination, believing that God commands His blessing when brothers live together in unity (Psalm 133);
in service, believing that faith without deeds is dead (James 2:26);
in prayer, believing that God is concerned for the physical, emotional, spiritual and moral state of each person, that He is the source of all good things, that He responds to prayer according to His will and that He calls us into relationship with Him (John 9:1-7; Mark 1:23-26; John 11:32-37; 1 Peter 1:15-16; Matthew 6: 31-33; Matthew 7:9-11; James 4:2-3);
in the study and reading of Scripture, believing it to be God-breathed and useful for the teaching, rebuking, correcting, training and equipping of God's people (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
The UKCF discussion forums are provided as part of this bigger website and present an opportunity both for discussion between Christians and others, and for fellowship. All MODs should hopefully make posts in line with the forum's Statement of Faith. Since it is often very difficult to conclusively and easily discern a person's personal point-of-view, some who post with genuine interest may not be in full agreement with every statement on the Statement of Faith. Please bare this in mind, and use your discernment throughout the forums.
