In Words of Encouragement
Just thought I'd post this Bible verse, in case anyone finds it helpful today: Matthew 6:25-34 Do Not Worry “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Amen

Mental health problems are very wide-ranging. They vary from the stress and worry we all experience at times, to more serious conditions that can affect the way we live. Roughly 1 in 4 people will experience some sort of mental health problem at some point in their lives. A mental health problem only becomes serious if it begins to interfere with your ability to cope or function in your everyday life. It's important to recognise when this happens so you can look for some support. Most people successfully manage their mental health problems, and with the right support, go on to lead very active and fulfilling lives. If things seem very bleak or scary you can contact: Your GP or out of hours GP service. He or she can usually deal with a mental health problem more quickly and fully than an Accident and Emergency (A&E) department. If you are concerned you can still go to A&E but may have a significant wait. If you are under a Community mental health team you can call your care co-ordinator or the out of hours emergency number you have been given. Any problems contacting help call your GP or the GP out of hours service. More sources of help  Samaritans on 08457 90 90 90 - open 24 hours SANELINE on 0845 767 8000 - open 1pm - 11pm every day Young Minds can provide support and advice for young people under CAHMS. MINDS can provide support and advice for adults experiencing mental distress or under Community Mental Health Teams. Please note Most priests, pastors and ministers work very long hours anddespite the rumours do need some sleep. Many use answer-phones at night to allow them chance to rest. Please try not to call your local minister between 10pm and 7am. God however is available 24/7 and anyone can talk to God from wherever they are about anything that is on their mind.

The aim of UKCF is to: Aim to present the Gospel truth of Jesus Christ to all that would hear, to the best of our ability, believing that faith comes through hearing the word of Christ (Romans 10:17). This will be achieved by: Facilitating, where possible, genuine discussion about Jesus Christ and Christianity between Christians and others. Keeping the forums focussed on appropriate discussion where possible. To not be afraid of tackling the difficult issues, differences and 'distinctives' that occur within Christianity, but keeping in mind God's desire for His church to be unified. Giving at every opportunity honest and gracious answers while remaining unashamed of the Gospel, believing it to be the power of God for the salvation of all that believe. (Colossians 4:5-6; Romans 1:16). encouraging God's people: to worship God in spirit and in truth, both personally and corporately (John 4:23-24); to fellowship with other disciples of Jesus as part of a congregation as well as on the internet (Hebrews 10:25); in unity, regardless of denomination, believing that God commands His blessing when brothers live together in unity (Psalm 133); in service, believing that faith without deeds is dead (James 2:26); in prayer, believing that God is concerned for the physical, emotional, spiritual and moral state of each person, that He is the source of all good things, that He responds to prayer according to His will and that He calls us into relationship with Him (John 9:1-7; Mark 1:23-26; John 11:32-37; 1 Peter 1:15-16; Matthew 6: 31-33; Matthew 7:9-11; James 4:2-3); in the study and reading of Scripture, believing it to be God-breathed and useful for the teaching, rebuking, correcting, training and equipping of God's people (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The UKCF discussion forums are provided as part of this bigger website and present an opportunity both for discussion between Christians and others, and for fellowship. All MODs should hopefully make posts in line with the forum's Statement of Faith. Since it is often very difficult to conclusively and easily discern a person's personal point-of-view, some who post with genuine interest may not be in full agreement with every statement on the Statement of Faith. Please bare this in mind, and use your discernment throughout the forums.

Note that because we are allowing room for discussion on the forums, we and all other members accept that new and existing members are not declaring absolute agreement with the following basic statement of faith simply by being a member of the site. Please keep this in mind as you use the forums, and be aware that posts may sometimes be different in theological stance to the basic statements below. The following basic statement of faith is intended to give a basic overview of the core, critical beliefs of Christianity. All moderators of UK Christian Forum or possible future moderators should be in full agreement with all the following statements. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The revelation of the triune God given in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments and confess the historic faith of the Gospel therein set forth. The sovereignty and grace of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit in creation, providence, revelation, redemption and final judgement. The divine inspiration of the Holy Scripture and its consequent entire trustworthiness and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. The universal sinfulness and guilt of fallen man, making him subject to God’s wrath and condemnation. The substitutionary sacrifice of the incarnate Son of God as the sole all-sufficient ground of redemption from the guilt and power of sin, and from its eternal consequences. The justification of the sinner solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ crucified and risen from the dead. The illuminating, regenerating, indwelling and sanctifying work of God the Holy Spirit. The priesthood of all believers, who form the universal Church, the Body of which Christ is the Head and which is committed by His command to the proclamation of the Gospel throughout the world. The expectation of the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ in power and glory. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The moderators consider these points to be the most critical fundamentals of the Christian faith and will moderate with this in mind. They will have their own distinctives on some other matters of theology in discussions. The forums represent an opportunity for discussion and fellowship, and UKCF welcomes all to join. However, the forums do not represent an opportunity for members to 'preach' at readers and other members aggresively and/or continually with a single point or message, an alternative Gospel message or other theology/religion. Such activities may be considered to be in conflict with the forum guidelines. Posts should always be made in accordance with the forums basic guidelines. We have clearly stated that UKCF is a website standing on Christian foundations so expect that moderating decisions will, at times, reflect this.

Things not to do: No name calling, swearing, offensive language, personal insults (debate the issue, not a person, keep focussed) or retaliation. Things to do: Treat others as you would like to be treated, stay on topic, promote positive discussion / chat / conversation. Don't use UK Christian Forums as a substitute for any kind of professional or councelling service or general advice service - if you need these, please be sure to seek professional help - don't rely on forums, personal opinions and internet interaction* * Questions and advice about things like personal matters in areas of emotional, medical and mental health are better shared with personal friends or counselling organisations, links to some of which are included here. You can also search the internet to find relevant professional organisations. A little more... We've experienced trouble on previous forums in the past where members discussing with each other have done so in a manner that is contrary to the attitude expected on the forums, and we've also had people joining who are not here for discussion / chat, but instead just want to make a point. With this in mind, and just in case there is an illusion that we are boundaryless, completely unbias (no forum is) and all encompassing...we're afraid we may not always be able to keep topics of discussion open. We would say, if you are not happy here, there are plenty of other forums to try with other people and different bias / opinions to join and you might find something elsewhere on the internet better suited to you expectations, needs and requirements rather than cause discouragement amongst the community here. The UK Christian Web main site lists some other UK based forums you can try here: https://www.christianweb.org.uk/christian-forums/ We would hope that participants in discussions would sort things out in an appropriate manor between each other and in a positive way without moderator input :) From previous experience, if the moderators need to get involved, a ban will often follow - even if warnings are issued first. Anyone can effectively join to ask their questions related to Christianity, but we will take into consideration the subject, writing style and content of posts (things like the wording of questions or discussions so as to compare with other religions, or other activity not condusive to discussion, such a promoting a particular ministry or in a 'preaching at the forum' style). Banning decisions may also be made in line with the registration agreement a member agrees to when they register on the forums. Note that we wont always issue warnings before a ban depending on the severity, speed things escalate and overall circumstances. Experience over a number of years has shown us that it is important to have guidelines in place if problems occur in the future. It is also important to have these things in place from the start because the internet brings together a diverse collection of people who may never have met face-to-face and initially, at least, probably don't know each other at all. With all this in mind, pray for the forums regularly, and we hope you enjoy the forums, and get something from them :)
